When to call a handyman vs a specialist trade
Not every job needs a specialist — but some absolutely do. Here's the line we draw.
Use a handyman for...
Hanging things, small repairs, like-for-like fixture swaps, decorating, flatpack, silicone, snagging lists, sticking doors, tap washers and small wood repairs.
Use a specialist for...
Anything gas (always Gas Safe), notifiable electrical work (Part P), structural changes, roof recovers, asbestos suspicion, drainage beyond the trap, anything you'd want a certificate for.
When in doubt
Send us a photo and a sentence about the issue. We'll tell you honestly which trade you actually need — even if it isn't us.
